Reliability is of the highest priority and, to that end, the DCA BOC service is housed in a secure and hardened 140,000 square feet facility. COLO5 provides state-of-the-art security, redundant power systems, and a robust fiber network with access to more than 15 independent telecom network providers optimized for performance and speed to a host of demanding customers from major financial institutions to military contractors. Located in Jacksonville, Florida, COLO5’s core infrastructure is rated to withstand hurricane category 5 forces to ensure maximum reliability and peace of mind.

Its data centers are designed to accommodate the changing power density and cooling needs of the colocation market while maintaining consistently superior levels of customer service and support. COLO5 is equipped with three 1250 KVA Cat diesel generators that are activated by automatic transfer switches (ATS) which monitor the electric feeds and transfer loads to the generators once the feeds are stable. While this happens, the uninterrupted power supplies (UPS) systems keep it clients’ equipment fully powered, preventing resets. Generator capacity is equal to or greater than the local commercial feed and, with 15,000 gallon diesel below-ground fuel tank, COLO5 has the capacity to power the generators for several weeks.

COLO5’s physical security procedures ensure that only authorized individuals have access to various physical locations, such as movement within corporate facilities along with access to the data center, and any other critical areas. Employees, contractors, and vendors are provided with their own security badge and biometric identification. The badge and biometric provides access to predefined locations with the corporate facility. The data center is accessible only to authorized employees and is protected by a badge system, a key code lock, biometric system, and turnstile.

Visitors enter through the main reception area and are required to provide government issued identification. Identification is scanned into the visitor log. A badge is printed that includes photo identification.
